What is “notice only” in bankruptcy schedules?

Victoria Maydanik California bankruptcy

In your bankruptcy petition, you would describe all of your actual or potential debts, but you don’t have necessarily need to have a specific dollar amount for each creditor or creditor’s agent. You may list some parties for notice purposes only, and instead of the amount, say that it’s a “Notice Only” listing.  This is helpful if you are not sure if you actually owe any money to a particular bank or person but still want them to be aware of your bankruptcy case. You would also use the “Notice Only” designation if the same debt has already been listed somewhere else in the schedules and you just want to include alternate contact information for the creditor, or information about additional collection agents for the same account.
